My dog licked his paw raw. How do I stop it and treat the wound?

a couple of days ago my dog started licking his foot like it was hurting and now he's licked it raw. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 2 months old | 55 lbs

Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. It is possible that Hercules caused a hotspot like area on the foot. I would recommend using a plastic cone around his head to prevent him from licking at it further. I would then recommend using an antiseptic spray such as Malacetic conditioning spray and apply to the area until resolved. If there is no improvement or the skin condition worsens I would recommend having a veterinarian examine him so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made.
