My dog threw up rocks and is acting normal. What should I do now?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | French Bulldog | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 4 months old | 23 lbs

Lou just threw up 5 tiny rocks. He is still pooping and playing but I’m pretty sure he accidentally licked them up last night when something was spilt in the yard bc I had to stop him from licking it. We are traveling so there is no vet in the area right now. What do I do?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Lou. You will need to monitor him closely. Hopefully he vomited all of the rocks he ingested. If not, there is the potential for one to become lodged in his intestines. This would make him very ill. Signs of this include vomiting, lethargy and a decreased appetite. If this occurs, you will need to find a veterinarian for him. In the meantime, offer him some water . Wait several hours as he just vomited and then you can offer a small amount of his food. I hope this information helps!
