So I've been forced to move back in with my mother I've got a dog a labradodle heeler mix. He has all his shots. My problem is that my mother refuses to get her dog the shots he needs and I'm forced to have my dog around theirs. My dog threw up today and refused to eat not drink while in was at work. He drank some water when I got home. So !t concerns are can a dog be a carrier of a disease and get another dog sick even though he has his shots? And any idea on how to get my dog feeling better?

As long as your dog has all his vaccines and they are kept up to date, he won't get deadly diseases such as parvo, distemper, or rabies from your mother's dog. There could be another reason why your dog isn't eating or drinking, and has thrown up. He could have a GI illness, may have eaten something rotten, could have a foreign body, or could have pancreatitis among other causes. Given that he has drank water and if it's stayed down, I can give you a home remedy to try to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. Best of luck, I hope this helps!
