My dog growls a lot but never bites. Is he anxious or just talking?

why does my dog growl all the time but he never bites. what wrong? is he unhappy or just talking?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. This type of behavior is often due to anxiety which can develop at any time and usually worsens with time. I would strongly recommend talking to your vet about anti-anxiety/ behavior modification medication which can make a huge difference! Often times, training is also needed in conjunction to medication. Best of luck to you and Yogi!
