Hi and thanks for posting! Maltese's as well as Schnauzers can come in different colorings, including brown or tan which are not as common but can occur. Sam's color is not abnormal but is certainly unique! I hope this helps!

    A Maltese/schnauzer is a cross breed so it could have color characteristics from either breed. Schnauzers can have a ‘red wheaten’ coat color that seems similar to the pup in your picture. He’s a cutie!
