Is it normal for my dog to pee small amounts frequently on walks?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | English Bulldog | Male | unneutered | 11 months and 30 days old | 45 lbs

Buddy lifts his leg so many times on our walks but only pees small amiunts each time. I would think at least the first pee would be more volume. Is this normal? He has no accidents in the house.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! If Bud isn't have urinary accidents, asking to go out more to pee, showing signs of urgency then he is likely "saving" up his urine to mark. He isn't neutered and is reaching maturity. If you see blood in his urine, he is straining or starts to have accidents then you should be concerned and have him seen. Have a good day!
