My rescue dog has diarrhea. Could she have worms or parasites?

My dog has had diarrhea for the past two days, she has no other symptoms. I think she may have worms that she has had for awhile since she was adopted from a shelter. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | unspayed | 20 lbs

I am sorry to hear about Jo! Being that she was from a shelter it is quite possible she has GI parasites, which could be worms or protozoa like Giardia or Coccidia. I would recommend bringing Jo and a stool sample in to the vet for an exam. In the meantime you can start a probiotic for dogs (available at pet stores and vet offices and online) which can sometimes help.
