Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Male | unneutered | 2 years old | 5.5 lbs
My dog has diarrhea. He had it 4 days ago but then he pooped normally, but today he had diarrhea again. His poop is really weird, he had something in his poop but I don't really know what that actually was (picture). 4 days ago I thought he was just scared because he was home alone, and I thought that this was a reason why he pooped and pee uncontrollably. 5 days ago and yesterday he ate cattle. Is it possible that maybe he has tapeworm? Please, help.

As a first approach I would recommend to start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 4 days. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice vomiting, lethargy or inappetence. The tapeworms that we see in dogs do not cause diarrhea, so I do not think that is causing Lucky's diarrhea. There is certainly mucous in his diarrhea, but I can't identify the other object. Certainly if he has eaten something abnormal, that could cause the diarrhea. I would recommend having your veterinarian examine a stool sample to make sure there aren't any parasites that needs to be treated and decide if Lucky needs any medication for the diarrhea. In the meantime, If he is eating and drinking normally, we will often recommend a bland easily digested diet consisting of ½ cooked white rice and ½ cooked white meat chicken (boiled without any skin or bones). If he does well with a bland diet and his diarrhea resolves, then you can slowly transition back to his normal diet over a few days. Diarrhea that continues for more than a few days, or is associated with blood in the stool, vomiting, lethargy or a poor appetite is a reason for a visit to your veterinarian.
