My dog swallowed a dental treat whole, acting fine. What should I do?

My dog swallowed a brush shaped dental treat whole. I am worried it is lodged but he won't let me check. His behavior doesn't seem different but I want to be sure. What do I do?

If the treat were lodged somewhere, I would expect Rocky to be coughing or gagging. Since he is acting normally, I would presume that it is in his stomach. Depending on the product and the size of the treat, most dental treats have been designed to dissolve in the stomach. I would contact the company that made the dental treat to verify this information and see if they recommend seeking medical care. Hopefully, it will break down in his stomach and won't require any other treatment. Good luck! I hope that was helpful and that Rocky is fine.
