My 8-year-old Shih Tzu has a red eye around the pupil, but he's fine?

8yearold make Shihtzu’s eye is red in a section around the pupil. Does not affect behavior and does not seem to hurt. Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Male | neutered | 7 years and 10 months old | 6.5 lbs

Hello. It appears that Panda may have bruised the eye. It is not uncommon for the dog breeds with protruding globes to accidentally get bumped in the eye. Usually, the redness will go away in a few days, but if the area does not clear or seems to be getting worse, or you notice any discharge from the eye, enlargement to the globe, unequal pupils or anything else that concerns you, please see your veterinarian as soon as convenient.
