Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 6 years old | 112 lbs
For the past month Kado and I have gotten on a routine of running/walking 2 miles 4 days a week (M-TH). Kado concerned me today. He has always pooped mid-run but today was a little concerning. He stopped multiple times to go but only actually went once or twice. The same happened yesterday. Why is it that he always has runny stool when we run and is it bad? Should I do something different? He runs off-leesh, has 24/7 access to clean water, and eats at least an hour before the run.

If Kado's other bowel movements are normal I wouldn't be too concerned but if he is having looser stools all the time I would recommend bringing him in to the vet for an exam. It is not unusual for dogs to have a bowel movement and maybe even have it be a little loose on a run due to increased GI motility due to the exercise. If he is acting like he needs to go frequently, however, this can be a sign of colitis and he should see his vet. https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4951545
