Why is my cat constantly licking her paw, limping, and bleeding?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 13 years and 4 months old

My cat has been licking her left front paw nonstop for 4 days. She is also limping and holding it up when she sits. There is dried blood like maybe she stepped on something but we tried to pull it out and can’t find anything. What’s wrong with her? (She is 13 years old and spayed)

Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. It sounds as though Bella may have injured her paw on something. This something may have punctured her paw and left remnants behind or it penetrated the Paw without leaving anything in the paw. I would recommend having a veterinarian examine her so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
