Our 10 mo. old dog suddenly has developed welts/ hives (?); we gave him a flea shampoo earlier today that we had never used before on him. Could this be the cause? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 10 months and 10 days old | 50 lbs

Yes this could be the cause. This is probably an allergic reaction , these reactions tend to resolve within 48 hours without treatment. if the swelling becomes too large or if your dog is lethargic, take her to the vet in order to get an antihistamine injection.
