Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Female | spayed | 1 year and 9 months old | 3.96 lbs
We are considering getting another dog to add to our family. We already have a dog, almost 2 year old Molly who’s a Yorkshire Terrier. We’re considering either a Maltipoo or a Cockapoo. I wanted to know if those would be good matches for Molly? I’ve researched Cockapoo’s and adore everything about them from their personalities to their adorable faces! But would they compliment Molly well? And we were thinking of getting another female. Would that be okay? Or is opposite sex better?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I find that females have more issues with each other than opposite sexes. I would expose Molly to other small dogs first as a trial to see if she will tolerate a new house mate. Maybe try a foster situation or offer to pet sit a friends small breed dog. I think either breed would compliment a Yorkie but you can't predict personality conflicts! I wish you the best!
