My cat was given dog Bravecto chewable. What are the side effects?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | 12 years and 5 months old | 14 lbs

My cat was recently treated for fleas with the bravecto chewable by a veterinarian. He weighs 13lbs and I am wondering if he is having an allergic reaction to bravecto. His ears are nothing but scabs, it’s so bad he is loosing hair and scabs are forming on his back now. He is in so much pain. I have used newsprint but I think he needs somthing else. What can I do? I can not get him back into the veterinarian office until earliest next week. Thank you.

It's unlikely to be an allergic reaction but chewable bravecto is for DOGS only, for cats bravecto is in spot on form, if your vet prescribed the tablet i do not know what could be the side effects, you should talk to the vet that prescribed it.
