My cat has coronavirus. Should I worry about his sneezing and snoring?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | neutered | 1 year and 2 months old | 12 lbs

My cat baileys has been sneezing for the last few days and is snoring worse than usual. He has tested positive for coronavirus and has a food allergy that requires a special diet. He is otherwise normal with his energy level and appetite. Should I be concerned about this knowing he has coronavirus?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. If Baileys is otherwise acting normal, eating, drinking normally with no nasal or ocular discharge then I recommend continuing to monitor. If his symptoms worsen, anything else changes or he's still sneezing after a week or more since he started this, then I recommend a vet visit.
