Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Male | unneutered | 8 months and 16 days old | 80.5 lbs

My puppy went to the vet Friday and they said he had a hot spot. They put him on antibiotics and now he’s not eating. What could possibly be wrong?

It may be painful and disturb his appetite. Antibiotics can also cause an upset stomach and affect their appetite. You can try to feed boiled chicken and rice or baby food to help. You can skip her night time medicine to see if makes a different then contact the vet about a different medication or a recheck
