My hamster's eye is gooey and crusted after a cat scratch. What to do?

My Syrian short hair hamster was perfect until my cat scratched his eye through the cage. He was bleeding from his nose and this happened about 2 or 3 months ago. He acts normal and still happy but his left eye is usually shut and crusted with booger looking goo and I’ve gently wiped it with Luke warm water on a paper towel to clean it and he opens it fine after that but it’s still always getting gooey. I don’t know what to do at this point it. It doesn’t seem to be getting better.

Your poor little hamster! This looks like there was damage to the eye and needs to see a vet. They will give you eye meds and probably oral antibiotics to help this get better. After this amount of time, f it hasn’t gotten better on its own, it really needs the help of a vet to get there.
