Accidentally gave my dog a double dose of Nisamox. Is she okay?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Jack Russell Terrier | Female | spayed

Hello, I tried registering through the website. But it kept throwing me out, after liking the Facebook page. I'm dog sitting, the Jack Russell bitch(spayed) is on Nisamox 250mg tablets, half twice daily. I've accidentally given her a whole tablet for her second dose of the day. Will she be on, what should I do please?? As I can't get hold of her owner at the moment. Thank you for your time

Since Amoxicillin (the ingredient of Nisamox) has a very wide safety margin, you do not have to worry, Just keep on medicating her as prescribed, ie the next dose of 1/2 tablet tomorrow morning. No need to worry.
