My sick kitten isn't eating. What can I feed her to help recovery?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | unspayed | 1 month and 8 days old | 1.13 lbs

My kitten is having trouble eating. The rest of the litter eats wet food happily. She has been sick, so hasn't been able to eat. I gave her some baby food (chicken flavor) and she ate some. I am thinking of supplementing for awhile with KMR. Do you have any suggestions to try to help her want to eat more?

I would recommend feeding her a high calorie, soft mousse such as royal canin recovery which is highly palatable and energy dense and can be very useful to promote weight gain during recovery. Ensure she is up to date with deworming medications also
