Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Barley! Can you post a picture? It is hard to tell with out an exam or a picture. I would use a T-shirt or an E-collar o donut to prevent licking and apply a topical antibiotic twice daily. Of the area isn't improved in a few days have her seen by your Vet. Please feel free to repost with a picture. Good luck!

Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. Judging from the picture, it appears as though this is an area of irritation. It does not seem infected to me. I would recommend buying a plastic cone to put around her neck to prevent her from licking at this area. I would also recommend using a topical steroid spray which you should be able to find online or at your local pet store. If this worsens, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine her so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
