My dog has a growth on his paw pad. Is it a corn and should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Cane Corso | Male | unneutered | 97 lbs

My 2 year old Mastiff mix Lenny has a growth on the pad of his foot. I took him to be examined by my vet who told me that was akin to a human having a Corn and that I shouldn't worry about it. Was hoping for a second opinion.

I would agree with your vet that the bump looks most like a corn. Although there are other things that can pop up in this place, corns are very firm and almost look like they would shell out of the foot. They may or may not be painful to push on. For many dogs, this does not bother them but some dogs can have pain or limping and may need to have them removed.
