Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 3 years old
So it's been really hot where I live lately. Though Milo is always inside with the air conditioning. During the day his breathing stays perfectly normal. However, during the evening it becomes very fast. He's not lethargic, he's drinking his water and his diets normal. There's no panting and no other signs of tachypnea but I'm still very worried. But it's the same time frame everyday and he's not active during those hours. It's usually after a long afternoon nap. Please advise.

Hi there, Increased respiratory rates in cats can be due to stress, lung disease, asthma, fever as well as other diseases. Since this happens daily, I would recommend taking Milo in for a chest x-ray to see what's going on and go from there. They will be able to tell you if it's something related to the above mentioned causes, or something else. I hope that helps and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
