My dog has a slight skin rash where her eyes drain. She lost her hair in that spot. Can I use an over the counter skin cream?

Hi and thanks for your post! I would recommend getting a diagnosis first from her veterinarian before using any over the counter medications or creams. Hair loss around the eyes may be due to a fungal infection, bacterial infection, or mites. Your veterinarian can diagnose these potential conditions with a fungal culture and a skin scraping. I would recommend Baby Girl visit her vet soon to have the possibilities above ruled out so a diagnosis can be made and she can receive the most appropriate treatment from her veterinarian. Some skin creams can be irritating to the skin or may make matters worse depending on what the underlying cause is, so getting a prescription medication from her vet is recommended. I hope this helps!
