My dog pines, won't eat, and snaps when I leave. Is it anxiety?

Hi can you help me my sister as jack russell dog male who's 4 and for some reason when he as not only become very attached to me he's started pining when ever i go home after a visit he wont eat or socialize with anyone and he's even snapped at people in the family its causing lots of destress to my sister

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It sounds like Patch has some separation anxiety and generalized anxiety going on. I would strongly recommend talking to your vet about anti-anxiety/ behavior modification medication which can make a huge difference! I would also encourage your sister to start some training and play with Patch every day to help strengthen their trust and bond. Best of luck to you all!
