My old cat is trembling after moving. Is it cold, anxiety, or pain?

Hello! I recently moved with my cat into an apartment. He is 17 and has lived in the same house since he was 2, but he did travel with us when he was younger. I did everything I could to make the move easy on him, and he’s been adjusting very well (eating normally, using litterbox regularly, socializing, vocalizing); however, I’ve noticed him trembling a few times, which he’s never done before. This house is colder and his fur is short right now from mats, could it be that or anxiety? Thanks!

Your cat may be chilly, nervous, or the trembling may be a sign of pain. Because Alex is an older cat it is reasonable to assume he has some degree of arthritis. I would recommend taking Alex in to be examined by your veterinarian. He may benefit from a joint supplementation and/or an anti-inflammatory medication. Best of luck.
