I soon will be getting a 5 week old kitten, will it be better getting another one or can my 11 month old chihuahua be as great of a companion?

Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach, just like children, some animals will get along and some will not. Often-times dogs and cats can get along and be great friends, this will mainly depend on the behaviour of your chihuahua. I would suggest trying them together first to see if they get along, and if not then get another kitty. It might be stressful to your chihuahua so I wouldn't get two at once. Best of luck with your little ones.
