How to stop my male cat from stealing food from my female cats?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I have 3 cats, the older of the 3 are two females and the youngest is a 2 year old male. Although I try feeding them in separate rooms(keeping in mind I have no doors to bar him from another room) he consistently tries to steal the females food bowls before even hardly touching his own. I chase him away as much as I can but he just stalks them and will push them away from their food as soon as my attention is elsewhere. Sometimes once he's intruded on them eating, they won't touch it after

Hi there. I would recommend getting a large dog crate, and feeding your male kitty in there with the door closed. Once the other two cats are done eating, you can let him out. This should prevent him from being able to bully them away from their food :)
