Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 10 lbs
Hi, Ruby is a 1-year-old female domestic shorthair. She has been in good health recently, but for about 24hrs now, she has had an irritated-looking eye. Her left eye seems to be a swollen and her eyelids are a little red. Her eye itself looks to have a little redness. It seems that most of the color and swelling comes from the eyelids. She lives with her daughter and they like to play physically, so I don't know if this is from an impact during play, an infection or other cause. Thanks

Hello, sorry to hear about Ruby. It does seem that she could have some irritation and inflammation of her eye lids. This could be from rough playing with your other cat or this could be some form of infection. If her eye lids are not improving within 1-2 days or if she develops any ocular or nasal discharge then you should contact your veterinarian to have her evaluated. Hope this helps and best of luck.
