My dog has an infection. Can she get boosters after a bad reaction?

Hi I have a question about booster vaccinations. Is it safe to give Layla her boosters if she has an ear infection or any other type of infection? Does she have to be in complete full health to be given them? Also, the last time she had them was the first round as a puppy and she had a severely bad reaction and almost died. I'm worried about giving her them again at all. Thank you.

Hello, sorry to hear about Layla. A mild ear infection or skin infection should not interfere with vaccine administration. Any other more severe infections should be addressed prior to administrating the vaccines. If Layla has had a reaction previously, ideally the vaccines should be separated and not given all at once. In addition to separating each vaccine, she should be pre-medicated to help prevent or atleast reduce the severity of the reaction. Hope this helps and best of luck.
