My Spitz has a hard, painful belly. Is his biscuit diet the cause?

Pet's info: Dog | Japanese Spitz | Male | unneutered | 6 years and 3 months old | 25 lbs

Hello doctor, I have a Spitz of 6 years named shiro.Since a few months my Shirl's abdomen is enlarged and sometimes he suffers from a sudden enlargement of abdomen which is painful for him but on rubbing will set back.He is having hard belly but is not showing any signs of sickness.He is good and active and also have a good appetite.He is just eating glucose biscuits with milk since his childhood and not any other dog foods.what may be his problem and how can we solve it.? Hi and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I would recommend getting Shiro into your veterinarian at some point to get him evaluated. Intermittent hard, painful abdomen could indicate something more serious in an adult dog. Given though Shiro is eating fine, with no vomiting/diarrhea and acting normally now, I would call your veterinarian and make an appointment for some time soon. They will do a full physical exam and likely recommend diagnostics like xrays and bloodwork. That may help in getting an answer with what is going on with Shiro. Good luck.
