My dog has vomiting and diarrhea; home remedies aren't working.

Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Female | spayed | 7 years old

Smurf is 7 years old and as a puppy was quite poorly,she had to have an operation for a shunt,she is sporadically sick but the past 2 days has had sickness and diarrhea I've tried the fasting and boiled chicken and rice but it hasn't worked,she is ok in herself but I'm wondering if the weather may be part of the problem,please help,i worry more because of her problems as a puppy,thankyou.

Poor smurf. There are so many causes for vomiting and diarrhea. I doubt it has anything due to the weather unless she is high anxiety and it has been really bad weather and if she has been well since her surgery then I doubt it is directly related to her shunt. Since it has been going on for 2 days without resolve, I would have your vet look at her. She is at high risk for dehydration. Your vet can do a fecal on her and blood work if needed to help rule out any liver issues and get her started on the best meds to help her feel better. I hope this helps.
