Puppy scared of loud TV noise at home? How to make her feel safe?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 4 months and 17 days old | 35 lbs

My 4 month old puppy was scared earlier with a loud noise from the tv, we took her for a walk in which she was very happy but now that we’re home she’s afraid again, does not want to eat and only wants to be outside. What should I do

Unfortunately it sounds like Kai has developed a negative association with the house due to the noise from the TV - I'm probably not telling you anything you didn't already suspect there, right? These can be tough situations to resolve, but you can definitely do it. You'll have to start pairing really positive things (delicious treats, very special toys, etc) with the house, and only with the house. Continue to take her out as needed, and go slow with her. If you're not crate training, consider doing so, as it will provide her with a place that's all her own that she can feel safe in. Also, keep the TV off during these period and consider putting on soft, volume-controlled music to soothe her.
