Can a pet owner put their dog to sleep for no reason? Can vets refuse?

Pet's info: Dog | Rottweiler | Female | unspayed | 2 years old | 94 lbs

Hi I'm just a little stressed out with what I've heard and I'm just wondering if it's true.can a dog owner get there pet put to sleep without any reason and the vets can't do anything about it..is this true

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Veterinarians can decline euthanizing pets if they feel that it isn't medically warranted. But yes sadly pet owners can ASK to euthanize their pets for any reason BUT the Vet can decline to do so. Pets are considered property by most laws. :(
