Why is my kitten sneezing, snorting, and lethargic with a wet nose?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Turkish Angora | Male | unneutered | 4 lbs

My kitten started constantly sneezing and snorting the day before yesterday. He always does it as he goes somewhere, and stops it in a laying position. Yesterday he was hiding and today he isn't active either. His litter is made of wood and there are no flowers, nothing that smells in the house. His nose became very wet (it used to be more dry) but there are no other symptoms. What could it be?

Hi, It could be cat flu if he hasn’t been vaccinated. If not he could have inhaled something irritant. Is there anything new in the environment ? It is difficult to advise without checking him over. Cat flu is extremely infectious but other conditions could be foreign body inhalation, allergy, nasal polyps or bacterial/fungal infections. If he is lethargic I would suggest to have him checked over.
