Why does my spayed dog have a red lump and is throwing up?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Female | spayed | 1 year and 6 months old | 70 lbs

My dog was spayed around six months ago and she has a red lump coming from her incision site. (Picture attached) She has been acting normal aside from throwing up twice today. I was wondering what this could be and how worried I should be?

This is definitely abnormal and I'm suspicious of an infection. It's not an emergency but good to have her seen by the vet who did the surgery within the next 24 hours. They can help to identify the cause of this and make sure it doesn't get any worse. I hope that helps and Lucy gets better soon.
