My dog ate a chicken bone. What symptoms mean I need to call a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 8 lbs

I have reason to believe my little Morkie may have eaten a chicken leg bone and I have no idea what to do. It could also have possibly been my borderdoodle. I gave each of them bread but I don't know what to watch for

Monitor for vomiting, constipation, blood in the stools and lack of appetite, if any of them are showing these symptoms- take them to the vet ASAP in order to be checked and treated for a possible obstruction or foreign body ingestion.
