My reptile's deep bite wound is healing. What should I do next?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Fred got bit a week ago. Been keeping it clean by diluting betadine, and warm water and using a syringe to squart over the area and putting a little Neosporin on a q-tip and dabbing it on. It was a deep wound, but to me it looks like it's healing nicely. No pus or sign of infection. 1st pic is the day it happened, 2nd is 3 days ago, 3rd pic is tonight. Looks dark due to the betadine solution. Any advice?

It looks like the wound is massively improved, it shouldnt be too long until it is completely healed. You are keeping it clean and applying topical antibiotic so there is little else you could do at home. Keep going as you are, and if it starts to deteriorate head to a reptile vet.
