My dog's leg is swollen after getting caught. Does he need a vet?

My dog's leg got caught up in his red wire chain; his leg is very swollen and I need some medical advice.

Ouch! That looks painful and unfortunately, I think he needs to see a vet. Your vet will be able to do some x-rays to ensure he didn't break any bones which can commonly happen when they get caught up like this. Your vet will also be able to get him on some anti-inflammatories to help with the swelling and antibiotics to help with infection. In the meantime, you can try to ice the leg if he will let you and strictly confine him so he doesn't use the leg. I hope this helps and he starts to feel better soon!
