Why is my male rabbit suddenly fighting his friend after separation?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | unspayed | 6 months old

I have another 10 months old male rabbit, when I first bought Pierre, I let them play together everyday and they're very friendly. That was until Pierre gotten ill and have been quarantined for 2 months. Today I let them out together to play together again for the first time in a while but Pierre suddenly starting fights with the other rabbit's. I'm wondering why it suddenly act like that and is there anything that can be done aside from separating them?

Pierre is not neutered and before the quarantine he was very young, now his male hormones are starting to kick in and he is more territorial, it is natural for him to fight, especially other males. the solution is to have him and any other males in the enclosure neutered.
