Why is my dog peeing inside, quiet, and not drinking? UTI or anxiety?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 2 years and 4 months old | 50.6 lbs

I have a golden labrador. Who seems to be quieter than normal and not drinking a lot. Since last week I have had 3 odd days where she has been weeing inside when asleep. Twice on my bed and once on the couch. My husband goes away for long periods of time and left last week. Could it be anxiety or something else?

Hello, sorry to hear about Savannah. In dogs, signs of abnormal urinations may indicate that they may have a urinary tract infection. This can be ruled out by submitting a urine sample to be checked for bacteria. UTIs in addition to making pets pee in abnormal locations, may also cause them to be lethargic, anxious, panting, and have a decreased appetite. If she continues to do this, or if her urine color becomes red tinged, then have her evaluated by her veterinarian for a UTI. Hope this helps and best of luck.
