My dog has a scab-like growth on her nipple. Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | French Bulldog | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 4 months old | 22 lbs

We have noticed a scab like growth on one nipple of our dog. It has been there a while and we haven't really thought much of it but thought it probably best to get a professional opinion on it. It is only present on single nipple. She is 1 year and 5 months old and is not yet spayed. She is a pied French bulldog and is happy and healthy in every other aspect.

This appears to be a small crusted area and could be from irritation or a scratch. I would monitor this for the time being and it should fall off on its own if it is a scab. If it worsens or does not resolve, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine the area so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

This growth needs to be checked and analysed as there are many conditions and types of tumors that could look like that. take Fred to the vet, they will perform a fine needle aspiration on the growth and send it to the lab for analysis. when the result comes, the vet will advise what needs to be done according to the diagnosis.
