Tick fever is caused by an organism called Erlichia, it is not the same as Anaplsama or Babesia but the symptoms are very similar and platelets deficiency are present in those 3 diseases. all three are transmitted by ticks.

Tick fever is another name for diseases transmitted by ticks (tick-borne illness). These illnesses are usually caused by blood parasites (anaplasma, babesia, rikettsiae, etc),viruses or bacteria. Here is information on babesia infections: https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/babesiosis-in-dogs.
