Why is my cat losing weight after a new cat joined? Stress or age?

I have noticed within a month/month 1/2 that Jayden has lost weight. No food/treat changes. I brought her Mom, Lil Stinker home in Feb 2018. They are adjusting well. Jayden has a thick coat and I try to brush her everyday. She has had some matting, which I cut off and con't to brush often. I'm just concerned about her weight loss. She used to be very healthy! I'm not sure if she was upset about Mom being here or if it's normal as she gets older. She had lose stool 5/29. And none today. Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Female | spayed | 2 years old | 10 lbs
