My bearded dragon's tail is brown, not shriveling. Is it tail rot?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Hi I have a bearded dragon and today I was watching some videos on bearded dragon health tips and there was one I was concerned about and it was called tail rot and it said something about a browning tail so I took a look at my dragon and it had a tail that is browning but it is not shriveling up like it stayed in the video so I was wondering what it was.

Bearded dragons can have a brown colored tail that is still healthy- tail rot will have a tail that shrivels, is hard and crunchy and has color change as well. It might help you to repost your message and include some pictures so that a vet can look at the tail and give you more information.
