Pet's info: Dog | Bulldog | Male | unneutered | 9 months and 12 days old
Hi my old tyme bulldog has quite a deep slice in between in his toes, he hasn't caught it on anything, but he has had hot spots around his toes and chin over the past couple of weeks. It was bleeding when it first split, but clean and well looking the following morning, this evening it's oozing puss slightly, I can't contact my vet at the moment, he's not bothered by it, but licks it every so often. Shall I just keep and eye on it and keep it clean? Many thanks, Riah

That could be a ruptured abscess or interdigital cyst. Either is common in bulldogs and may have an allergic component. place an e-collar (cone) on him to prevent further licking. Ideally, Dexter should be examined by your veterinarian when you can for confirmation and treatment. He may need antibiotics and the paw is likely painful. Medication can be dispensed for relief if indicated.
