My 8-week-old kitten has goopy eyes. What can I do if she's not sick?

I reached about an 8 week old kitten from a dog last night and her eyes are sort of goopy. I am pretty sure that the dog didn't get her in the face. I think the kitten may have been abandon for awhile. The kitty doesn't appear sick what can I do for its eyes? Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed

Hello. Most of these kitties have a viral infection of the eyes often complicated with a secondary bacterial component. Other than keeping the eyes clear by gently cleaning with warm water a few times a day, there is not much more you can do except having the kitten seen & treated by a veterinarian. With the proper medications, the kitten will start to feel & look better pretty quickly. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
