Is it safe for 7-week-old kittens to be in an air-conditioned room?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Female | unspayed | 1 month and 18 days old | 0.55 lbs

Hello - my persian kittens are 7 weeks old and till now I have kept them in a clean warm place. Warm stands to state as hot in India with temperatures soaring at 90 Fahrenheit degrees. In God's Grace they are all eating well and active. I was wondering whether we can take them to our bedroom which has air conditioner. Will 7 weeks old kittens still need warm temperatures or will it be adaptable to? I tried for an hour or so and they were fine. Your revert will be very much appreciated. Thanks

Actually, kittens want it warm, very warm. So I would not put them in a cooler room unless they start panting. As long as they have fresh water available. Most cats in temperate climates are feeling cold, which is why they try to spend time in the sun and near fire places. They will be ok in your air conditioned room, but they will seek your body heat, as they might feel cold.
