My dog reverse sneezes when drinking water. How can I help him?

TomToe had reversed sneezing quite often for a few days,after my granddaughter dog jumped on him a week ago. it stopped and now he reverse sneezes every time he tries to drink his water and can't drink as much as he normally does. Is there anything I can do to help him so he can drink normal again? He still eats and is active other than reversed sneezing when he drinks. Pet's info: Dog | Toy Poodle | Male | 9 years and 1 month old | 10 lbs

Thank you for submitting your question regarding TomToe. He may actually have acquired an upper respiratory tract infection. Most dogs will exhibit coughing, but a few will only reverse sneeze. Allergies can trigger this problem as well. I would recommend that he sees his veterinarian tomorrow to be evaluated. He may require an antibiotic.
