Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | 4 years old

My German shepherd 5yrs 70lb has surgery Friday last week around 11. I picked him up Saturday and he’s still a little groggy and having a hard time standing and walking. How long is this suppose to last. He wants to get up but can’t

Since you did not mention what kind of surgery Diesel had, it is not possible to tell you whether the trouble getting up is caused by pain from the surgery, the surgery itself or due to the anesthesia or due to strong pain killers. The anesthesia should have worn off by now, However , strong pain killers can cause dogs to be groggy afterwards. You may need to help him to get up for a pee and having a bowel movement.
